FARRIS HASSAN

FARRIS HASSAN is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the General Partner and the Investment Adviser. From June 2010 through August 2010, Mr. Hassan worked on the Oil Services & Equipment team in the Equity Research Department of Morgan Stanley, New York, New York. In that capacity, he undertook financial research and analysis on the stocks of oil services and equipment companies. From June 2011 to October 2012, he worked on the Utilities team of the Equity Research Department of Morgan Stanley, where he conducted financial research and analysis on the stocks of regulated electric utilities, independent power producers, and diversified utilities. In this role, he created and updated financial models. He valued stocks with a combination of methods including the sum of the parts, discounted cash flow, relative P/E, and EV/EBITDA. He conducted scenario analysis to gauge the impact of bear, bull, and base case forecasts. He advocated changes to the team’s stock ratings. He honed various investment theses in reports published to the institutional investment community. He advised hedge fund clients and senior corporate management about industry trends and the team’s key forecasts. He analyzed and wrote about the meaning of news affecting the utilities industry and his stock coverage universe. And he met with and questioned the senior management of companies under coverage.

Mr. Hassan is a graduate of Amherst College, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2011. His areas of study included economics, political science, and philosophy. Mr. Hassan successfully completed FINRA Series 7, FINRA Series 63, FINRA Series 86, and FINRA Series 87.
